Gbenro Adesina
A Yoruba Linguist and Author, Kudirat Oluyemisi Ahmed, clocks 60 today, February 26, 2021.
Born in Ilesa West Local Government Area of Osun state to the family of late Pa Diisu Akande and Late Mama Olabimpe Diisu, Kudirat had her Primary, Secondary and Teacher training education in Ilesa and later attended Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo in Ondo State before proceeding to the University of Ibadan, to study Adult Education and Yoruba. She is currently studying for her Master degree in Yoruba Literature.
Kudirat is retired from the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, and is now a Writer, Publisher, an astute Public Speaker and a Translator from English Language to Yoruba and vice versa.
With over 30 years teaching experience across schools in Nigeria, she has been instrumental in ingraining the Yoruba language and culture in young minds. Flowing from her wealth of experience, she also provides professional translation services.
She has authored three widely circulated books on Yoruba Language including Èdè Yorùbá fún Alákòóbèrè, Ìwé Kìnínní àti Ìkejì and Past Questions on Yorùbá Language for WASSCE, NECO & GCE.
