Youth of Njaba Area of Imo State have protested illegal extortion and intimidation by men of the Nigeria Police, demanding that such criminal acts should stop.
The Protesters numbering about 30 were seen in a video clip daring armed policemen in front of their station.
As the policemen were warning them to stop the protest, the angry protesters were shouting that they were not afraid to die.
The attempts to gain entrance into the police station were forcefully resisted.
Police extortion, intimidation, violation of the human rights of innocent citizens, and in some extreme cases, killing of civilians who refuse to be extorted, are daily occurrence in Nigeria.
Though, residents of the country have never ceased to call on the government to prevail on the police to stop the illegal acts to no avail.
