Kaduna State Police Command has arrested a 35 years old woman identified as Comfort Innocent over human trafficking and handed her over to the Ogun State Police Command manning the jurisdiction where she had kidnapped two underage girls.
However, the police claimed to have rescued the two underage girls, identified as Blessing Adurotola, 15, and 16-year-old Hasisat Fasasi at the point of being trafficked out of the country.
Making this public, the command Public Relations Officer (PRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi revealed that the suspect was arrested following a complaint by the victims’ mothers, stressing that the suspect was arrested while attempting to traffic her two victims to Libya for prostitution.
Oyeyemi said that the allegedly human trafficker claimed to have been in the business with her husband, who lives in Italy for a while.
Oyeyemi stated that the suspect would be transferred to the anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
